the deserted street beckoned me to leave
the buildings crashing around me
society obliterated by a lack of time
everything i once knew, falling apart
turning to dust before my very eyes
and then i see you, standing there
reaching out to me
your eyes telling me what i needed to hear
and as i step toward you
the building readjust themselves
the cracks in the pavement are mended
everything folds together like an origami of hope
my world is realigned, and its better than before
as long as you are in it
